Worlds In Collision

Torn Between Two WorldsAccording to their Worlds In Collision website :

“This project serves to record Filipino American history in the United States, through a lineage of our artists and makers and their cultural achievements in painting and sculpture, graphic design, graffiti writing, turntablism, music, writing, and film. This will function as a historical and cultural resource, for and by all who are interested, and includes a weblog and discussion forum for ongoing comment on community issues. Worlds in Collision is an organic historical document which will grow through use.”

It’s highly recommended to check out the Artists Index where snippets of artists works are included. It’s rich, highly thoughtful & provocative. I would like to see more artists included, though.

Their weblog is a documentation of art students project from the University of San Francisco’s Yuchengco Philippine Studies Program and the Department of Visual Arts.

I think this is an amazing work started by Carlos Villa, and is now taught by Jenifer Wofford.

The posted photo is an artwork done by Michelle Medina from the weblog of Worlds In Collision.

I’m a designer/artist/actress based in Los Angeles. I always wanted to connect with other artists for networking and collaboration. One of my goal is to help Filipino American artists become more visible to the general public.
