FilAm ARTS started the production of the Annual Festival of Philippine Arts & Culture (FPAC) in 1990 as part of the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department’s Festivals Program, an arts program designed to address the multicultural constituency of the city. It was initially organized by about 100 artists and community leaders, where 3,000 participants braved the aftermath of the L.A. riots that occurred the week before. Since then, FPAC has grown into the Southland’s premiere showcase of Filipino American and Philippine contemporary and traditional visual, performance, media, culinary and literary arts. And yet the wonderful thing about FPAC, it’s still a grassroots and community-led effort, produced by a core group of volunteer professionals, in collaboration with community based and civic organizations, and involving over hundreds of volunteers.

I’m a designer/artist/actress based in Los Angeles. I always wanted to connect with other artists for networking and collaboration. One of my goal is to help Filipino American artists become more visible to the general public.
