I. About the Filipino American Artists Network

This blog is about celebrating emerging, mid-career, acclaimed or celebrity Filipino American artists. My intention is to connect, participate, collaborate, & create an audience for Filipino American artists & strengthen the diversity in the field of arts by compiling resources and directory about Filipino American artists in any discipline.

Connect

I am continually looking for FilAm artists to feature. And through these artists, it’s a bridge for me to connect with other artists to feature. I’m also calling for all FilAm artists to connect with me by emailing me information about your fellow FilAm artists that you think deserves to be recognized and be featured in this website. All artists, individuals and communities can start connecting by posting your comments, including www.filamartists.com in your links or blogroll of your website (if you have one) and joining our online social networks listed below.

Participate

The artist participates by being accessible to their undiscovered audience. Other Individuals can participate by contributing information, blogs, event postings to the www.filamartists.com (Please check the Submissions & Contributors below this page). The Filipino American community and individuals, and other followers can bring this further by patronizing the artists works and events.

Collaborate

It is my hope that when we feature these artists and compile information about them, other artist would be able to network and help each other. I am also initiating collaboration with FilAm or Filipino
community and individuals to spread the word about the FilAm artists that I feature.

Create An Audience

Currently, our platform to acknowledge and give credit to deserving FilAm artists is limited. Usually, credit is given after the fact that a certain FilAm artist has achieved celebrity status. By featuring these artists, more people will know about them and their works. This is my call to the mainstream media – to be supportive with this intention.

II. Who is Creative Pinay ?

This is a section blog wherein I’ll journal my process in networking with other artists, personal reviews about artworks or performances and also about the creative process in my work.

I’m an architect/designer/artist/actress currently living in the diverse city of Los Angeles. I immigrated from the Philippines seven years ago. I also worked as an Architect when I was in the Philippines and had been active in the visual and performing arts at the same time. When I moved, it was tough starting all over again but my passion for creating art get me through that phase of adjustment. I’m currenly working on getting my Architectural license here in this place, I now call “home.”

I always wanted to connect with other artists for networking and collaboration inside and outside the Filipino/Asian Community. Even if it is a really slow process, it is still such a wonderful discovery connecting with your fellow artists.

One of my goal is to help Filipino American artists become more visible to the general public.

A directory of artists from different art categories. There are two types of listing for artists. Basic & Premium Listing.

a. Free Artist Members:

• One headshot image or work sample; and one logo in 125px X 125 px, jpg format
• Contact Info
• Description in 100 words.
• No expiration

b. Basic Artist Members:

• Only $ 29.95 a year
• 8 images in jpg format
• Contact Info
• Full page description
• Included in Featured Artist
• Upload document or resume

2. FilAm Community/Business Directory

These are listings that includes chamber of commerce, retailers, associations and other form of Filipino American groups.

a. Basic Organization:

• Free listing for non-profit organizations only and by invitation.
• One logo and one image in 125px X 125 px, jpg format
• Contact Info
• Description in 100 words.
• No expiration

b. Premium Business:

• Only $199.99 a year
• Up to 15 product images in jpg format

B. Creative Pinay

“Creative Pinay” is TheA_rtist voice on the blog which is almost like a combination of a journal, review, commentary or editorial for the website.

C. Portrait of An Artist

Features an emerging or acclaimed or celebrity artist of any type of category. Submissions are welcome.

D. Spotlight Of The Week

Features an artistic work of any category. Submissions are welcome.

“Flickr Filipiñana” is a section where any pictures about the Philippines can be posted through a photo stream in flickr.

“Videos” – Youtube links from the media or journalist that features Filipino American artists.

FilAmArtists offers a wide range of advertising options; please email ads [at] filamartists [dot] com for rates and availability.

The standard is $100 per month for sidebar banners. These banners are visible when the user visits interior pages. It also comes with one whole page layout and Premium Business listing in our Business Directory section. Banners can be linked to your company’s website or to your listing in our Business Directory section.

Advertising Policy on Creative Pinay Section

I will only advertise products or services that I personally like. This also includes products or services that I have actually used, tried and tested; that I would actually use and own myself; and any advertisements that relates to Filipino American artists.

There are two kinds of advertisements on this Section only.

1. Positive reviews of products/services that I have used, tried, and/or art work/events that I loved and feel positive about sharing it with others

2. Sidebar Banner advertisements. Please match your ads to the look or style of the website.

VII. Donation:

As we are starting, we welcome any amount of donation.

VIII. Submissions & Contributors:

FilAmArtists warmly welcomes submissions from artists and manufacturers. We cover any original art works on different field- from architecture to performing up to visual arts that denotes Filipino American artists.

We try our best to showcase fresh, original content. As such, priority is given to works and stories that have not yet been covered online. Please indicate if your submission has already appeared online or been submitted elsewhere.

Please note that FilAmArtists does not offer paid editorial coverage. Please do not send requests for post-rates as we do not offer them.
